Lex Mundi is the world’s leading legal network with over 700 independent law offices in more than 125 countries. Working across so many legal jurisdictions and engaging clients across many different cultures means managing a consistent group approach to brand communications can be challenging.

Stand was invited by executives at the Houston, Texas HQ of Lex Mundi to create a suite of effective content suitable for use by their membership and customer base worldwide. As Lex Mundi prepared to launch their progressive approach to delivering global legal services through their innovative new platform, Equisphere, the challenge to Stand was to communicate this complex new initiative with clarity, simplicity and with high levels of engagement.

This opportunity came to Stand during lockdown and with most of Lex Mundi’s key stakeholders based in Texas, the initial pitch, and much of the strategy, was done utilising a virtual platform for workshop delivery.

The key requirement was to help Lex Mundi communicate in a more modern, more accessible way, designing the communication of the concept and the benefits of this new way of working. The materials needed to work both as a face to face support document and also as a stand-alone proposal document.

Making best use of the interactive functionality available on digital platforms, the striking visual work supported a controlled delivery of key information, paced to ensure maximum understanding was achieved.

The insights gained during the virtual workshop sessions enabled Stand to script, source video footage, create a graphic approach and edit a high-quality launch film for Equisphere in less than 10 days.

To give the film an authentic voice, Stand recommended using one of Lex Mundi’s own lawyers to create the voiceover. Daniel He, based in Shanghai, was nominated. Stand sourced a local recording studio and briefed the studio director and Daniel, to ensure that the single available recording slot open to us (in less than eight working hours) delivered the voiceover required. Art directed by the Stand team in the UK, one of the unexpected benefits of the Shanghai setting, was that the time difference actually bought us time in the project. With the recording generated at 3pm Shanghai time, it was available to our Glasgow editing team at 9am the very same day!
