In order to appeal to more people, VSS had to shake off the misconception that their service centred on “tea & sympathy”. They are a professional organisation that offers practical, emotional support when people need it most.

Our film taps into the nation’s mindset. Whenever times get tough, we Scots rally round in support. Because we care. Because it’s just what we do for one another. And when it comes to helping victims of crime, that selflessness and readiness to act could well be vital.
Deliver
VSS received their first enquiry within one minute of the campaign launching on TV. Thousands more followed, and volunteer applications surpassed their highest expectations. Having previously struggled to attract people outwith large cities, VSS now have volunteers in every single Scottish locality.
