Scottish Natural Heritage (in partnership with NHS Health Scotland, Forestry Commission and the University of Glasgow) led the development of a new action plan to introduce the Natural Health Service concept in Scotland.
The plan encourages the use of the outdoors to deliver physical, mental and social well-being. Maximising health outcomes from green exercise by developing a joint approach between health, sport, active travel and environment sectors.
The evidence-led campaign was aimed at the less-active general public, specifically socially disadvantaged people, and carers.
Directly acknowledging the barriers as lead messaging (one of which was the Scottish weather), the evidence-based animations were roll-out in primary care waiting rooms across the country. The calming bird sound-track was designed for use in these environments where quiet is required.
