Our economy still largely follows a linear model: take, make, waste. It's a one-way system that fuels overconsumption and creates unnecessary waste.
Zero Waste Scotland is working to accelerate the shift to a circular economy, where we reuse, repair, recycle and reduce our reliance on buying new. The challenge is that, for most people, systemic change feels distant and difficult. While 97% of consumers say they want to be more sustainable, only 22% are actively changing their behaviour.*
So rather than asking people to think big, we built a campaign that focuses on the small wins: simple, believable, achievable behaviour changes that fit into everyday life. Because lasting change starts with actions that feel realistic.
Each campaign execution led with personal benefits, whether that's saving time, money or hassle, supported by bold visuals and playful copy packed with practical ideas and encouragement.
By bringing these everyday behaviours together under the banner of the circular economy, we made a complex concept feel tangible. Lots of small changes. One shared direction. And a future reshaped from linear to circular.
